A team leader/supervisor is a first line management role, with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome.
They provide direction, instructions and guidance to ensure the achievement of set goals. Working in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisation, specific responsibilities will vary, but the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed will be the same whatever the role.
Key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.
Roles/Occupations may include: Supervisor, Team Leader, Project Officer, Shift Supervisor, Foreperson, and Shift Manager.

The entry requirement for this apprenticeship will be decided by each employer but may typically be five GCSEs at Grade C or higher.
End Point Assessment (EPA)
EPA Method 1
Presentation and Questioning
1. You will be given a title from your IEPA and will be given 2 weeks to prepare and submit your presentation.
2. The presentation will last 20 minutes, and the questioning will last 30 minutes to provide scope for you to demonstrate your full competence.
EPA Method 2
Professional Discussion underpinned by Portfolio of Evidence
1. Confirmation of entering EPA sent to EPAO with Portfolio of Evidence
2. EPA Independent Assessor emails with date and time for Professional Discussion (PD), you will get at least 2-weeks’ notice
3. PD to be based on the set of KSB criteria (see below) and underpinned by Portfolio of Evidence, both of you will have a copy
4. PD usually lasts 60 minutes and “must be structured to bring out the best of your competence and excellent…allow the opportunity to obtain the highest possible grade
5. It is suggested you familiarise yourself with the Portfolio of Evidence you have provided the EPA.
13-15 Months
Off-the-job training requirement equal to 6 hours per week for the duration of the apprenticeship
1-2 days per month onsite delivery
Evidence gathering through e-portfolio
Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 2*
*Dependent on prior attainment level
Impact is measured through the practical application in the workplace of skills developed and reflective learning.
There are two end point assessments
1. Presentation and Questioning
2. Professional Discussion based on your Portfolio of Evidence
